What tradies who rely on it are saying.

From sparkies, plumbers, builders and site supers across Australia.

Tom R.
Settled an inspection dispute on the spot.

Pulled the exact AS/NZS 3000 clause mid-inspection. Inspector had nothing to push back on.

Gets a Friday afternoon back every week.

Saves forty minutes on every SWMS. Cites the reg, flags what to confirm, done.

The story behind StandardsMate

Learn the trade. Do the work. Keep getting better.

StandardsMate brings standards questions, job paperwork and everyday tools into one place for Australian trades. The ambition is to help qualified tradies work with less admin, and help apprentices understand their trade, not just find an answer.

Why we’re building StandardsMate
An adult apprentice and an experienced tradesperson learning together at a workshop bench.

The trade operating system, built around the size of your operation.

The first point of contact for tradies onsite. Australia wide.

Answers draw on the Australian Standards, the NCC and the state rules in the StandardsMate library, and name the clause they rely on, or the standard and section when no single clause fits. The library keeps growing.

Frequently asked questions.

  • StandardsMate turns "what does the standard actually say?" into a plain answer on your phone. Ask about AS/NZS 3000, the NCC or your state's rules and you get what applies to the job in front of you, in plain English. Answers name the clause they draw on, and the standard and section when no single clause fits, so you can check them before you sign off.

  • Electricians, plumbers, builders, HVAC technicians, solar installers, data cablers and their supervisors. Anyone responsible for getting a job right under an Australian Standard, on the tools or signing off. It cuts out the PDF hunting.

  • Free to start: 20 questions a month after a 7-day trial with no cap, plus 2 jobs a month you can quote and invoice. Pro is $49 a month for unlimited questions, unlimited SWMS and up to 10 jobs at once. Business is $79 a month for unlimited jobs at once and up to 25 people on each job. Prices are in AUD and include GST. No setup fees, cancel anytime.

  • Answers cite the standard and the clause or section they draw on, so you can check them yourself. StandardsMate is an information service, not professional advice. Always check the cited clause and use your own licence and judgement before signing off.

  • Answers are tailored to the state or territory in your profile, give your state's rules plainly where they apply, and name the standard and section they come from.

  • Your chats, drafts and saved jobs are stored on AWS in Sydney and encrypted in transit. To answer a question, we send it, with the standards text and any job details it needs, to our AI provider, Anthropic, in the United States. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, what we send is not used to train their models. A person on the StandardsMate team may open a conversation to look into a problem you report or an answer flagged as wrong, and questions shown on this page are anonymised and edited first. We don't sell your data. Advertising and session-recording tools run only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. Read the privacy policy for the full breakdown.

  • Yes, and you do it yourself, no calls. In Settings, open Plan and press Manage billing to manage or cancel your plan on the secure billing page. Within 7 days of purchase or renewal we offer a voluntary change-of-mind refund (less the value of any paid credits used). After 7 days, statutory rights apply (Australian Consumer Law, EU/EEA withdrawal where relevant). Full refund policy in the Terms.

  • On the phone, yes. It runs in your phone's browser, so there is nothing to install. It needs signal to answer: if reception drops, your question stays in the box and you can send it once you are back in range. SWMS and other PDFs you have downloaded open on your phone without signal.

  • Not yet. Accounting integrations are on the roadmap. Today every quote, invoice and SWMS downloads as a PDF. You can also use StandardsMate end to end as a workspace if you want one place for jobs, quotes, SWMS and team.

  • Email [email protected] any time, or send a message through the Contact page. The StandardsMate team reads every message within one business day.
